Framing - Click on a picture for a larger image

I came to the job site in the late morning and realized that the subfloor was about to be placed over the only bit of ceiling left in the entire house. This cedar closet ceiling has recessed can lights that were about to get buried under subfloor, inaccessible to the electrician.

Fortunately, the lights still had a length of flex conduit attached and Sean drilled a hole allowing the remaining wire to come down through a wall. Disaster averted. reconnection later with fingers crossed.

Richard, hangs over the edge and cuts a 4x12 beam, which is cantilevered out about 2 feet, with a giant beam saw (a Skil saw on steroids). Tino is holding him by his belt. We could barely watch!

The rim joist on the cantilever.

More sub floor goes in

by the end of the day we were very close to having a complete subfloor

Some new framing in the master bedroom
