Framing, roofing, HVAC- Click on a picture for a larger image

Overall . . .

I marked the sidewalk for the new water meter. We'll have two, one big new one for the house and fire sprinklers and one older one just for irrigation (no sewer fees!)

Working on the roof deck over the family room

And working on the deck over the garage

Most of the roofs are finished up to their edges. With a few more details to go at the edges (extended rafters, fascia boards etc.) we should be ready for the roofers next Thursday.

Richard and Matias use custom templates to cut all of the re-sawn extended rafter tails at precisely the same angles.

a day in "Enderson Mills"

More Craigslist firewood pickups. After two big pickups the pile is almost gone.

Can you believe it? MORE DEMOLITION. I'm making space to put the second (downstairs) HVAC unit in the office closet and a hole in the outside wall for an access door

In the late afternoon Ford Wholesale delivered the roofing material.

In the process they broke one of the outlookers. Considering this is nailed, glued and then plywood nailed and glued on top of it, there won't be an easy fix to this one! They also drove their truck into the lumber pile, punctured a line and left a giant oil leak running down the driveway and sidewalk. they pointed it out ot me and drove off (nice!). I had to quickly grab a couple of wheelbarrows full of dirt to throw on top of the spill to soak it up.

Neighborhood gawkers watch the roofing material go up the conveyor belt. Elizabeth, Nikitas and Clio.

Devin and Dexter LOVE the scaffolding.
Additionally some sheathing and sheer wall went up where the roof will meet walls and the HVAC guy got the upstairs air return in place and the duct over to the family room. A piece of ply was put where the electrician is going to install the Main Panel on Monday. I also measured the blocking for the solar system and removed a couple of extra ones to allow for maximum ventilation. A big day indeed.
