Phases - Roofing

For our roof we chose an Owens Corning product called Woodcrest Shingles, color: Mesquite.

Our roofing contractor, Jeff Klemzak, happens to be a friend of a friend and we had him do a couple of jobs for us in the past. He was great to work with and we loved having him on board.

Richard Enderson, the framer, told us he was just about ready to put the roof on and we had the shingles delivered on November 10th. Little did we know that the framing of the roof would drag on so long that we did not begin installing it until December 14th!

Everything went well despite a few rafters that needed to get leveled. The only other hitch that occured was that, as we found out later, the city inspector did not notice that the framers had not installed ANY of the boundry blocks which should have been nailed to the roof deck. Several weeks later we had to rip off the entire top of each roof to be able to nail down into the blocks that were added in. Bummer. Jeff was very generous in how he helped us fix the problem. He is highly, highly recommended for your next roofing job.
